The idea was to have information in the shape you were looking for, which often means augmenting data already out there
- links to good explanations if they exist already
- details if most resources are summaries
- summaries if most people only discuss details
- a "why do this in the first place" and "maybe consider this instead"
- a "technically ..." alongside a "and usually this means..."
- intuitive bootstraps, like how a friend might explain it
- ...also in a “if you can’t explain it, you probably don’t understand it” sort of way.
It very much has also become a more messy general personal notebook for things like:
- distillation when searches don't details in one place, like common plugs and connectors, or lightbulbs, or all those symbols on electronics, or staple sizes
- new interests
- research and summaries for work, like ZFS, EM file formats
- research and summaries for hobby projects, like overviews of analog audio voltage levels, or video formats, electronics notes in general, dyes
- attempted research like whether rust is bad for you, how lava lamps work, the difference between doughs, batters, leaveners, the difference between distilled and demineralized water, how people see colors and why the sky is blue and whether that may be different on other planets, what happens when you get thrown out an airlock, etc.
- refreshing knowledge I've forgotten since high school, like ions and ionizing radiation
- attempted summaries for larger topics, like code licenses
- write-ups of specific hobby projects, e.g. notes made making an DIY electonic drumkit, DIY internet radio
I try to distill over time.
I have only so much time, and too many interests ^-^
Also note that some of the entries are more opinionated than neutral.
