Parataxis ('placing side by side') can refer to

  • a writing style that is minimal in these sent hat it avoids conjunctions
cf syntaxis (favors complex syntax), hypotaxis (the explicit subordination of some word, phrase or clause to another, (only or particularly?(verify)) with a conjunction)


  • In linguistic analysis, parataxis often points to words that form a relationship by being adjacent, rather than explicit coordination/conjunction (verify)
