Banner, figlet, toilet, cowsay

To have readable text-mode statistics you don't have to squint at, you can use
banner
,
figlet
, or
toilet
to create ascii-artish large text.


If you also want a cow (use
cowsay
), you might get CPU temperatures shown like:

To see how each figlet fonts works in a given terminal, use
showfigfonts examplyf1290
.

The following manual way may be more complete

There are a few larger fonts that may be very good choices for graphical terminals set to smaller font size, or just when you want readability from a distance.
