The Dutch word 'poffen' usually refers to heating in ashes, such as preparing aluminium-foil-wrapped potatoes in a barbecue.


It is also used to refer to a few other cases of direct heating, such as popcorn.

Note that since the term is (overly) specific, translations such as popping and roasting are not very accurate - but practical.
