Silicone is a group of silicon-based synthetic polymers , usable as grease/oil/lube, resin, sealant, and soft rubber-like materials/sheets.
Particularly the rubber-like material is often made chemically neutral, is naturally heat-resistant (up to a point. You can assume it's fine to at least 220C(verify)), so is generally food-safe, body-safe, and safe in ovens (up to a point).
