Keystep notes

Main features:

Mode switch

• Seq(uencer) allow you to record and play sequences
• Arp(eggiator)

Seq/Arp knob

• In Seq, it switches between eight sequences
• In Arp, it switches the type of arpeggiation

Time div knob

how it reacts, rhythmically, to the beat clock

Rate knob

speed of internal clock (does nothing if another sync method is selected)

In sequencer mode

Seq/Arp knob switches between eight stored sequences,

each of which can have up to 64 notes/chords.

You'd use notes towrds modular, but can use chords towards MIDI.

'Tap tempo' adds rests, or ties together notes

Tap Rest/Tie button

• (When not recording?) Alters internal beat clock (if used)
• (In sequencer mode?)

in Seq mode: whether to run the sequencer

in Arp mode: whether to run the sequener (if off, allows free play)

Hold

MIDI IN/OUT can be set to THRU mode, basically meaning you can use the keystep as a midi interface for one DIN-midi source (verify)

The sequencer

Sequencer can have 64 steps, and each step can be polyphonic up to 8 notes. (note this is useful only for MIDI output, not for CV)

The arpeggiator

You can arpeggiate up to 32 notes

Chord mode

Press and hold Shift-Hold, and keep holding them while you play the notes you want to combine (together or in sequence), then let go.

Now this chord will be emitted when you press keys (anchored at the lowest note of the chord)

This will wipe any previous chord. Not pressing any keys will return to single-note mode.

Active chord mode is indicated

Chord mode applies to bot Seq mode and Arp mode. Though n Seq mode, keep in mind it counts towards the polyphony.

Kbd play mode

You play over the playing sequence, rather than alter it.
