When you have ad blocking (e.g. browser extension, an additional feature of the VPN you use, pi-hole), it may well block googleadservices.com.

This effectively breaks sponsored results in e.g. google's search results (because the way these get tracked is by linking via a google server).

Which, not, includes a bunch of things you might think of as product links.
