In computer virtualization, Linux's Kernel-based Virtual Machine that makes it a near-native hypervisor


In computer hardware, A "KVM switch" switch that lets you connect a single Keyboard-Video-Mouse combo (hence the abbreviation), to multiple distinct PCs.

This probably has the most value when you only sometimes need hardware access, e.g. around servers.
There are 19" rack-mounted variants that are both that distribution and that one controlling console (often extends and folds, so looks somewhat like a laptop)
