This article/section is a stub — some half-sorted notes, not necessarily checked, not necessarily correct. Feel free to ignore, or tell me about it.

Peanut sauce, also satay sauce, sate sauce, and saté sauce, is a sauce based on ground peanuts (roasted), and regularly includes soy sauce, (coconut/soy/regular) milk (when the whole is not creamy enough).

One convenient way to make peanut sauce is to use unsweetened peanut butter you would usually put on your bread, or to grind (e.g. blend) peanuts with water. This is often soured up with something like (salt or sour) soy sauce and/or some lime juice.

You could add roughly ground peanuts for texture.

Relatively common variations, particularly when you use this sauce as a dish's major flavouring, include further ingredients such as fish sauce, chili peppers or curry paste, ginger, garlic, vinegar, sugar, onion, broth and such.
